Chapter History
Phi Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. was chartered on October 3, 1940. For seventy-five years the brothers of Phi Alpha chapter have spread the word of Omega to the Upstate community through its programs and activities.
After becoming inactive in 2006, the chapter was officially reactivated by Sixth District Representative Victor Bruinton on June 21, 2011. The chapter held its first meeting in an effort to follow the procedures set by the Sixth District to reactivate the chapter on May 9, 2011.
During the meeting, a process to select officers was adopted. Basileus, Vice Basileus, Keeper of Records and Seals, Keeper of Finance and Chaplin were appointed. A recommendation was made to hold Phi Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. meetings on the second Tuesday of each month.
Chapter meetings are now held on the second Thursday of each month.
